Time of Your Life is a surreal coming-of-age horror film that follows Jonathan - a 25-year-old college dropout who navigates an uncertain future tethered by his impulsive lifestyle. Through several moments in time where he finds himself alienated from the world, he fights for control in his subconscious against a figure that personifies the fears and anxieties associated with getting older.

This is my official thesis film, an idea that took three years to come to fruition. From the moment that I transferred to Chapman University, I toggled with the idea of growing up as a framework for a horror film. As the years went on, I found myself in the same place as the thesis’s protagonist, stuck with the reminder that many people I knew growing up were at better stages in their lives than I was. And I took that feeling of anxiety and wrote this film as a means of catharsis.

Sacrificing a traditional narrative for abstract vignettes, I knew that the disjointed cluster of ideas could serve as the aesthetics for how the film would be presented. The short travels between the protagonist’s inner mind and the outside world. The scenes jump through many weeks, much like how our memories skip over intervals in time. I wanted to evoke that sense of immediacy.
